Sue has established a legacy for her vision, creativity, and leadership through her role as former vice president of Global Apparel, Accessories & Equipment for Columbia Sportswear, and former director of US Merchandising and Retail GMM at Nike, Inc. In addition to holding these executive posts, Sue is Founder and President of Lessons Learned, a consulting firm that focuses on making organizations more effective and strategically focused from concept-to-consumer.
With an extensive background in presentation and storytelling, Sue also specializes in coaching executives to create and deliver compelling speeches that resonate, motivate, and persuade.
SECRETARY – KAREN SPOONER
Karen has over 30 year’s sales, advertising, product and marketing experience in financial services, consumer products and sporting goods industries. She held Vice President positions in banking and leadership roles with Playtex Apparel, Nike, Danner and Columbia Sportswear.
Karen delivers results through coaching and empowering her teams to reach beyond what they believe they are capable of achieving.
She has built consensus as an individual contributor and manager in highly matrix organizations.

Our founder, Sharon coaches and consults with organization leaders wanting to energize their workplace to achieve excellence. From her years as a leader in two Fortune 100 companies, as well as many years as a consultant across diverse industries, she has developed a clear perspective on organizational change that builds on individual and organization strengths to meet current challenges.
EVENTS DIRECTOR – BETTE CLEM
Bette Clem is a project management professional with over three decades of experience moving innovation forward in the high-tech industry with companies such as TriQuint Semiconductor (now Qorvo, an Oregon-based startup spun from Tektronix) and Intel, where she spent the last 25 years. Having recently retired, Bette has launched into Phase II of her career with an Intel-sponsored fellowship in the healthcare industry.
Finding her voice in a male-dominated industry fueled her passion to mentor and coach other women in the tech field. She brings that focus and experience to WCL as she fosters relationships that support the professional development of women. A student of life, she is continuously learning and practicing what it takes to be an inspirational leader.
Communications & Marketing Director – Jacquie Bell
Jacqueline Bell has been working as a graphic designer and art director for over 20 years, making her an expert in print and electronic media. From high-tech Fortune 500 companies, to smaller non-profits, her range of clients has given her a unique understanding of marketing communications from every level. Her work experience at a larger agency led her to start her own business in 2000. Now her passion is helping non-profits spread their mission by formulated and executing their own marketing and communications plan.
Programs Director – Lori eberly
Lori Eberly, LCSW began her career in health care, working for a decade as a hospice social worker. She honed her skills in discovery then set off to develop leaders and build belonging in organizations. Today she is a small business owner, executive consultant, and the author of Fuckery. Curiosity and relationships remain the heart of her work as she builds trust in nonprofits, global tech companies, and wherever people work together. Lori lives in North Portland with her family, except for the summer months when they travel the Northwest in their Westfalia.
TREASURER – Michele Leedom
Michele is passionate about connecting people, developing business strategies and leading people and organizations through change. Michele’s career began in the healthcare industry where she held several financial leadership roles. She now works as an Executive Consultant where she enjoys partnering with organizations to assist in their strategic planning, team building and executive coaching. With intellectual curiosity, humor and deep empathy, Michele nurtures, inspires, and empowers teams to rethink the way they do things so they can fulfill their greatest potential.
Michele lives in Portland and loves hiking in Hood River, running away to wine country and enjoys discussing current affairs.

With 25 years of active brand marketing experience, Janene Larson has built a career promoting companies through intuitive product and brand marketing. Janene specializes in the business side of design and consumer culture. She has global consultative experience in marketing, footwear and apparel at Nike, Adidas and other major companies.
Janene has a passion for elevating women and design across multiple industries.
